THE STORY
In 1970, the founder of KONG was about to discard a suspension part of his VW van. Whether it was due to its unpredictable bouncing or its durable rubber, his dog was absolutely thrilled with this rubber toy in the shape of a snowman. His owner realized that this could help manage his dog's destructive chewing behavior. The KONG Classic was born.
What defines the brand
The demand for its toys - which now came in various sizes and colors - was high. In the 1990s, the first KONG branch was established in Golden, Colorado, USA, which is now affectionately referred to as the "World Headquarters".
Since then, the range has been significantly expanded. However, the motto remains the same: "We aim to fulfill dogs' need to play with safe, durable, and endlessly entertaining toys, while also allowing owners to interact with their four-legged companions."
